A striking large-scale interpretation of John James Audubon’s iconic bird studies, Audubon’s Blue Heron I brings a sense of history and natural beauty to a room without feeling overly traditional. The graceful heron is rendered with the detail and character associated with Audubon’s celebrated Birds of America, set against a softly aged background that gives the piece the look of a beautifully collected antique print.
John James Audubon was one of the most influential wildlife artists and naturalists of the 19th century. His work documenting North American birds would later inspire the name of the National Audubon Society, founded in 1905 and dedicated to bird and habitat conservation.
Printed on matte paper and presented without a mat, the artwork is finished in a substantial 2.13" wide frame. At nearly 54" wide, it has wonderful presence over a console, fireplace, sofa or bed and works particularly well in coastal, traditional and collected interiors.

Why We Love It
We love the scale of this piece and the way it gives a room the character of a genuine found print while still feeling clean and current. The heron has an especially natural connection to coastal homes, but the restrained palette makes it easy to use well beyond a traditional seaside setting.
