Two big nested-diamond medallions stack vertically through the centre of this Maimana, each one outlined in orange and red serrated chevrons with a smaller red and ivory diamond at the core. The inner field around them carries small blue and lavender amulets at the corners, framed by a wide orange triangle border that bounces the colour around the perimeter. Hand woven in Pakistan in the Maimana flatweave style from northern Afghanistan, the rug is wool, fully reversible, and easy to roll up and shake out. The honey-toned base softens what would otherwise be a quite busy field, which makes the rug feel warm without being bright, a good fit for a bedroom, study, or as a quieter accent in a more colourful room.
