Suzani designs come out of Central Asia, traditionally embroidered as wall hangings in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and this piece carries that decorative vocabulary into a hand woven kilim flatweave. The ivory field is worked over with a soft tonal Suzani pattern of stylised florals and small medallions, with a wider geometric border running around the edge.
